Mt. Rainier Puts On A Show!

THIS IS AWESOME - 14,500 ft.
 ~
Some of us NOT living in Tacoma,
Washington or surrounding areas will
appreciate these pictures. Some of
you who live in the Portland area
may have seen this before? It was so
amazing, people were pulling over
on the freeway to take pictures.

These are called "ventricular clouds".
They're caused when the winds are
just right, so when they flow over
Mt. Rainier, the air gets pushed
upward where it cools and condenses
into clouds. Depending on the winds,
you can get some amazing cloud
formations as you are seeing
 ~

 ~

It's usually a sign of rain within 24
hours, because typically the moist flow
that precedes a storm around there
is the perfect set up for these clouds.
