~ An Obituary ~

An Obituary printed in the London Times..... Absolutely Brilliant !!

Today we mourn the passing of a
beloved old friend, Common Sense,
who has been with us for many years.
No one knows for sure how old he was,
since his birth records were long ago
lost in bureaucratic red tape.
He will be remembered as having
 cultivated such valuable lessons as:

- Knowing when to come in out of the rain;
- Why the early bird gets the worm;
- Life isn't always fair;
- And maybe it was my fault.

Common Sense lived by simple,
sound financial policies
(don't spend more than you can earn)
and reliable strategies
(adults, not children, are in charge).

His health began to deteriorate rapidly
when well-intentioned but overbearing
regulations were set in place.
Reports of a 6-year-old boy
charged with sexual harassment
for kissing a classmate; teens
suspended from school for
using mouthwash after lunch;
and a teacher fired for
reprimanding an unruly student,
only worsened his condition.

Common Sense lost ground when
parents attacked teachers for
doing the job that they themselves
had failed to do in disciplining
their unruly children.

It declined even further when
schools were required to get
parental consent to administer
sun lotion or an aspirin to a
student; but could not inform
parents when a student became
pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.

Common Sense lost the will to
live as the churches became
businesses; and criminals
received better treatment
than their victims.

Common Sense took a beating
when you couldn't defend yourself
from a burglar in your own home and
the burglar could sue you for assault.

Common Sense finally gave up
the will to live, after a woman
failed to realize that a steaming
cup of coffee was hot.
She spilled a little in her lap,
and was promptly awarded a
huge settlement.

Common Sense was preceded in death,
-by his parents, Truth and Trust,
-by his wife, Discretion,
-by his daughter, Responsibility,
-and by his son, Reason.

He is survived by his 5 stepbrothers;
- I Know My Rights
- I Want It Now
- Someone Else Is To Blame
- I'm A Victim
- Pay me for Doing Nothing

Not many attended his funeral
because so few realized he was gone.

If you still remember him, pass this on.
If not, join the majority and do nothing.

HOBBY LOBBY MAY CLOSE 500 STORES

 Hobby Lobby Founder
May Close ALL Stores

Hobby Lobby May Close.

David Sloan “The wisdom that comes from above is, first, pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, without uncertainty or insincerity.” – James 3:17
By David Green, the founder and CEO of Hobby Lobby Stores, Inc.

When my family and I started our company 40 years ago, we were working out of a garage on a $600 bank loan, assembling miniature picture frames.. Our first retail store wasn’t much bigger than most people’s living rooms, but we had faith that we would succeed if we lived and worked according to God’s word.

From there, Hobby Lobby has become one of the nation’s largest arts and crafts retailers, with more than 500 locations in 41 states. Our children grew up into fine business leaders, and today we run Hobby Lobby together, as a family.

We’re Christians, and we run our business on Christian principles. I’ve always said that the first two goals of our business are (1) to run our business in harmony with God’s laws, and (2) to focus on people more than money. And that’s what we’ve tried to do. We close early so our employees can see their families at night. We keep our stores closed on Sundays, one of the week’s biggest shopping days, so that our workers and their families can enjoy a day of rest.

We believe that it is by God’s grace that Hobby Lobby has endured, and he has blessed us and our employees. We’ve not only added jobs in a weak economy, we’ve raised wages for the past four years in a row. Our full-time employees start at 80% above minimum wage.

But now, our government threatens to change all of that.

A new government healthcare mandate says that our family business MUST provide what I believe are abortion-causing drugs as part of our health insurance. Being Christians, we don’t pay for drugs that might cause abortions, which means that we don’t cover emergency contraception, the morning-after pill or the week-after pill. We believe doing so might end a life after the moment of conception, something that is contrary to our most important beliefs.
It goes against the Biblical principles on which we have run this company since day one.

If we refuse to comply, we could face $1.3 million PER DAY in government fines.
Our government threatens to fine job creators in a bad economy.
Our government threatens to fine a company that’s raised wages four years running.
Our government threatens to fine a family for running its business according to its beliefs. It’s not right. I know people will say we ought to follow the rules; that it’s the same for everybody. But that’s not true.
The government has exempted thousands of companies from this mandate, for reasons of convenience or cost. But it won’t exempt them for reasons of religious belief.

So, Hobby Lobby and my family are forced to make a choice. With great reluctance, we filed a lawsuit today, represented by the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, asking a federal court to stop this mandate before it hurts our business. We don’t like to go running into court,
but we no longer have a choice. We believe people are more important than the bottom line and that honoring God is more important than turning a profit.

My family has lived the American dream. We want to continue growing our company and providing great jobs for thousands of employees, but the government is going to make that much more difficult.
The government is forcing us to choose between following our faith and following the law. I say that’s a choice no American and no American business should have to make.

The government cannot force you to follow laws that go against your fundamental religious belief. They have exempted thousands of companies but will not except Christianorganizations including the Catholic church.

Since you will not see this in the liberal media, please pass this on to all your contacts.

Sincerely,
David Green
CEO and Founder of Hobby Lobby Stores, Inc.

COOL CLEAR WATER

   Thought you might be interested

to know about this possible side

effect & info about drinking water.

The following will probably amaze and startle you.

One glass of water shuts down midnight
hunger pangs for almost 100% of the
dieters studied in a University study:
Lack of water is the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.

Preliminary research indicates that
8-10 glasses of water a day could
significantly ease back and
joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers.
A mere 2% drop in body water
can trigger fuzzy short-term memory,
trouble with basic math, and
difficulty focusing on the computer screen.
Drinking 5 glasses of water daily
decreases the risk of colon cancer
by 45%, plus it can slash the risk
of breast cancer by 79%, and one is
50% less likely to develop bladder cancer.
Are you drinking the amount of
water you should every day?
(No kidding, all of the above are true)

Of course, too much water may
have strange side effects......

--- JUST ---Don't get carried away!

Now that I have your attention,

go get another glass of water!

BUT BE VERY, VERY CAREFUL!

Laugh often, long and loud...

Laugh until you gasp for breath.
And if you have friends who make

you laugh, spend lots of time with them.

2 Legged Dog Named "Faith"

This dog was born in the year 2002. She was born with 3 legs (one other deformed leg was amputated later).  She of course could not walk when she was born. Even her mother did not want her.

Her first owner also did not think that she could survive and he was thinking of 'putting her to sleep'.
But then, her present owner, Jude Stringfellow, met her and wanted to take care of her.
She became determined to teach and train this little dog to walk by herself.

She named her 'Faith'.

In the beginning, she put Faith on a surfboard to let her feel the  movement.

Later she used peanut  butter on a spoon as a lure and reward for  her for standing up and jumping around.

Even the other dog at home encouraged her to walk..

Amazingly, only after 6 months, like a miracle,  Faith learned to balance on her hind legs and to jump to move forward.

After further training in the snow, she could now walk like a human being..

Faith loves to walk around now.

No matter where she goes, she attracts people to her.

She is fast becoming famous on the international scene and

has appeared on various newspapers and TV shows.

There is now a book entitled 'With a Little Faith' being published about her.

She was even considered to appear in one of Harry Potter  movies.

Her present owner Jude Stringfellew has given up her teaching post and plans to take her around the world to preach that even without a perfect body, one can have a perfect soul'.

In  life there are always undesirable things, so in order to feel better  you just need to look at life from another direction.
I hope this message will bring fresh new ways of thinking to everyone and  that everyone will appreciate and be thankful for each beautiful  day.

Faith is the continual demonstration of the strength and wonder of  life
.
A small request: All you are asked to do is keep this story circulating.
